Are you a skilled VFX Pipeline Developer seeking your next exciting opportunity? We are on the lookout for a talented leader with excellent communication abilities to join our team.

As the lead for the Pipeline team, you will work closely with our technical team, supervisors and leads to build and improve our VFX Pipeline. This role requires a strong balance of programming expertise and development management skills to create pipeline software tools, provide technical guidance to support production decisions, and offer general technical support throughout the production process. Effective communication and meticulous planning are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Scripted tool and UI development and support
  • Research and recommend improvements to workflow and communication
  • Identifying and developing pipeline automation tools while maintaining existing tool set
  • Track and resolve bug reports submitted by Production
  • Work closely with artists and supervisors to understand production needs
  • Work closely with IT to optimize pipeline performance
  • Oversee documentation and programming best practices

Requirements

  • At least four years of VFX industry experience as a technical director or software developer
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows, Houdini, Nuke and Python / PyQt
  • Knowledgeable in Autodesk ShotGrid
  • Proficiency with one or more vendor Scripting APIs: MEL / Maya Python, VEX/ Houdini python, Nuke, etc.
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Self motivated, enthusiastic attitude and good communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team or independently at times to find the best design solutions

Nice to Have

Experience and knowledge in any of the following: 

  • Software Development
  • Arnold Renderer
  • Maya
  • Linux
  • Knowledge in other programming languages/frameworks
  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL
  • Experience with Deadline render submission across DCC software (e.g., Nuke, Maya, Houdini).
